Part-Time Music Minister
Faith United Methodist Church – Bradenton, FL
Narrative:
The part-time Music Minister position at Faith UMC of Bradenton is a salaried position. The person serving in this role works closely with the pastor to select songs, and coordinate a blended worship experience for Faith United Methodist Church. The applicant must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with the Senior Pastor and volunteer musicians and singers involved in the church’s musical programs. This person must also possess the skills needed to successfully produce and execute a thoughtful and spiritually rich blended worship experience.
Supervision:
Weekly coordination with the Senior Pastor
Purpose:
The purpose is to plan and provide music for Sunday morning worship service as well as special music, i.e., seasonal, weddings, funerals, etc. This also includes rehearsals for Sunday services and special music.
Conditions of Employment:
A teachable spirit, and team player
Experienced musician (preferably piano)
In agreement with United Methodist polity and Wesleyan Theology
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Clear criminal background check
3-5 years of church music experience
Ability to perform assigned tasks independently
Physically able to assist with moving equipment as needed
Focus:
Work with the Senior Pastor to coordinate music such as anthems, hymns, blended materials, etc.
Provides leadership of songs and hymns for Sunday service
Accompany the choir, and lead rehearsals
Accompany various groups or individuals for special music
Assist in the preparation of soloists or groups for performance
Schedule practice time necessary for the preparation of music, in collaboration with vocalists and musicians
Task List:
Communicate weekly song and hymn selections to the worship team
Accompany the adult choir of the church
Scheduling rehearsals, and quarterly team gatherings
Provide guidance to volunteers in the conduct of the programs/events in which they participate
Provide music at all worship services including weddings, and funerals on or off-site (honorarium)

Compensation + Benefits
$800 / month
